Is a TV Preamplifier and a cable signal booster the same?
I am currently watching HDTV with my over the air antenna and I want to get something to boost the signal and maybe get more channels and clearer picture.
Whats the difference between the two products in the links below? One is a Preamp and one is called a cable signal booster. Will either one get me the same results or are they different somehow?

For your situation, either would probably work. The Winegard product is specifically meant for antennas. It is supposed to be mounted on the mast near the antenna so that it won't amplify noise.
The Motorola product is targeted at digital cable. it's bi-directional (which doesn't do anything in an antenna installation), but is broadband enough that it could be used with a VHF/UHF antenna.
In digital, it is possible to have too much signal. If you add an amplifier and lose signals, you may have too much on strong stations with the amplifier.
