Does an external media player with hdmi connection look better on my hdtv than pc to tv thru vga?
I already connect my pc to my 37 inch hdtv using vga. The actual window components like explorer are pixelated or "splotchy" though movie files if high enough quality like 2gig mkv files look pretty good....my quesion is will a stand alone external media player like the WD TV with an hdmi output make movie files look any better than my vga connected from my pc to my 720p tv.
One thing that is going to be better is less cable to connect. HDMI cable carries video and audio signal and the only cable that can handle the 7.1 surround sound. Optical cable only handles the 5.1 and not the DD True HD or the DTS master audio. The picture will be a little sharper than the vga cable. Hope this will help you out.
