37 or 42 inch Vizio LCD TV ? any owners out there that have an opinion on these sets?
they are in the size and price range I`m looking at. Any other suggestions in the $700 to $900 price range?
Vizio is an excellent bang-for-your-buck company. I have the 32'' VX32L model and I love it. It displays up to 1080i and has HDMI and VGA connections which are unusual for tvs so inexpensive. The picture is excellent also. I use it with my Xbox 360, PS3, and HD DVD player and they all look stunning on it. And don't listen to people saying stuff like "Vizio is crap, get Sony or Samsung" because people like that probably haven't even seen a Vizio, it's just an unfamiliar brand so they assume it's junk. I have a 46'' Samsung LCD and picture-wise, it isn't that much better(and it cost 3x as much) Vizio is also not a wal-mart brand, that is a common mis-conception. They are an independent company based in California, and Vizio was the #1 seller of LCD displays in North America in 2007. So yes, I would recommend Vizio.
