Vizio, Sceptre, or Insignia?
I'm at a crossroads... I currently own two Vizio LCD televisions, and I want to add one more to the family. I definitely need a 1080p (for gaming and blu-ray) and it needs to be under $1,000. I found three televisions, a 37" Vizio for $689.99, a 40" Sceptre for $599.99, and a 42" Insignia for $899.99. The Sceptre looks very tempting for its price and size, but I always liked Vizio. And then the 42" Insignia is the biggest, but I don't know about the best.
Your opinion?
Have you actually watched those TVs? I mean, the Sceptre is probably cheaper for a reason. And, the reason would most likely be that it doesn't have anywhere near the picture quality of the other two (which are not exactly top-of-the-line brand names, either).
I went to Fry's Electronics and Costco prior to deciding on an HDTV and I looked at about 30 different models. Personally, I preferred the picture on a Sony to any other HDTV. So, that was the only brand I would consider, regardless of price. But, I might have seen some difference that someone else might not have noticed or cared about. So, they were okay with the less expensive brands. But, you should seriously look at the picture on the TVs you're considering, and not just make your choice based on price and size.
