How much power do i need on my power supply when building a pc?
the parts i am getting are: -vizio sv370xvt -visiontek radeon hd5850 -amd phenom x4 965 -plextor px-b320sa -seagate barracuda 1.5tb st31500341as -patriot ps-100 32gb -ocz fatal1ty 4gb ddr3 -msi nf980-g65 - i have no idea how much power i need and if the tv i am plugging in needs to use power from the power supply
just by looking its hard to say, you would be safe most likely with a 650w to 750 power supply...the tv wont have any effect on your power supply sense it just plugs into the wall....
get a good brand name unit like corsair,antec,ocz.......
just to make sure you can use this power calculator....plug in your specs and it will give you a close estimate on what you need power wise....if you end up with say,475w get at least a 600w for extra headroom so you can do future upgrades......also make sure to check the amps on the 12v rails of the power supply you go with....

the amps are just as important as the wattage, that's why i say buy a good brand name unit as it will have that.....
for example-----this corsair 650hx 650w unit has 52 amp on the 12v rail...also has 4--6 pin power connectors for video cards.......
