Would like an opinion on HDTV?
What do you think would be better for playing 360 on, a Viore 32" LED-LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV or a Vizio 32" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV? i want to get a new tv for my bedroom and also to play my xbox 360 and i would like to hear some opinions on which would be a better buy. also, if you can explain what is better, an LED-LCD HDTV or an LCD HDTV, are they the same or is one better? Thanks.
LED and LCD TVs use the same type of screen, but the way the light for the screen is produced is different.
LCDs use a series of tube lights behind the screen, which are always on. They therefore can dilute the colours, especially dark colours and black. LEDs, however, use LED bulbs which, unlike the LCD bulbs, can be dimmed or turned off altogether, which gives you much better colour reproduction via a massively improved contrast ratio.
Go and compare an LCD to an LED TV in any retailer, you'll see the difference in picture quality straight away.
LED TVs also cost a lot less to run, as the LED bulbs are much more efficient.
