I am stock on sony vs vizio for hdtv...which brand is better?
I am in the final phase of buying a tv (after days of reviewing different models). I have these two options to select from (Vizio 42" Class Eco 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV, VO420E vs. Sony Bravia 40" Class 1080p LCD HDTV, KDL-40S504). What model would be better in terms of hd quality, easy integraion with home threater,gaming system and laptop.
This is my first HDTV and been trying to make sure i get it right.

Keep in mind that you can not see the difference between 720P and 1080P in screen size small than a 46". Everyone is pushing the 1080P, which is a higher cost than the 720P. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs. Last September issue it featured a Panasonic 42" Plasma model G10 and compared it to a Sony, LG, Toshiba and Vizio LCD tvs. The Panasonic was the top choice and the only model to have the THX (higher quality standard for picture). You will also notice that Panasonic has a tv recommend in each price category of entry level to the high end while Sony, Samsung and Toshiba does not (December issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. Hope this will help you out.
