My Sony Blu Ray Picture Doesn't Look Like Others?
Hello,
I just asked a question earlier this week about connecting my Sony Blu Ray DVD Player. Well, I got the HDMI chord beings I was told that would provide best results for sound AND picture. I bought 'Batman Begins' on Blu Ray and got the HD picture I'm used to seeing when I order HD movies from Comcast onDemand. My question is though, why when I go to Best Buy (etc.) their Blu Ray DVDs look much better picture wise. The characters in the movies look like they're inside with you, as if the film is being filmed right in front of you. Thats what I always found amazing about Blu Ray. I was thinking maybe because Batman Begins is a bit of an older movie, but idk. Am I just expecting too much? I have it connected to a 1080p 42'' Vizio Flatscreen.

1. The TVs at Best Buy on display have much higher specs. Some have much higher contrast ratio and others have more accurate color reproduction and some of the LCDs have 120Hz, which makes the picture look smoother and more like a documentary than a film. Your TV probably doesn't have this.
2. The TVs on display at Best Buy are usually calibrated to show the best possible picture that they can. Calibrating your TV will probably significantly increase the picture quality, though it may still not quite compare to that at the store.
