what are some great looking blu ray movies to rent or buy?
just got a vizio blu ray player and i would like to see some of the good looking movies any suggestions seems that i will be buying them from walmart or renting them
Most bluray movies look pretty sharp. I would pick a movie that you've seen before on DVD and really like. Even better get on ethat you already have on DVD so that you can compare. Take a look at http://www.bluray.com and look at their movie ratings. They rate the picture and sound quality and provide screen shots for most movies.
The best I've seen is the movie Baraka. It has unparalleled picture quality. Baraka was shot using 65mm film and converted to digital using the 8k UltraDigital HD Process. It was downsampled from 8K to 1080p with great care and it shows.
IMHO almost anything that is animated by Pixar, Dreamworks, etc looks amazing. Wall-e, Cars, Shrek III, Kung fu Panada, etc.
I watched The International (Action/Thriller) the other day and it was very sharp and detailed. Black Hawk down is great if you like War/Action movies. The Prestige, Ironman, Batman all look amazing.
