WHICH TV IS BEST BRAVIA V PIONEER?
i have a small home theater room with 7.2 ch system and currently am running an old sony trenitron 32" TV. it is now time for an upgrade and i am after a new flat panel screen. currently i am looking at a choice between 3 screens: a sony bravia XBR45 (40" - no LED back light), a sony bravia z4500 (200hz motion flow) or an old pioneer PDP-50MXE20 (720p monitor)
what do you recommend????
the xbr is japanese and has a Bravia engine 2 pro along with 4 HDMI's and 100hz but is it just an expencive w4500??
the z4500 has 200hz motionflow and 80000:1 DC however is Malaysian (is this a big deal these days)
the pioneer is only HD and is a moniter so connections are limited - however it is also japanese
any opinions would be much appreciated - we value your feedback.
Step AWAY from the PIONEER....
I'll dispose of it right now...They are a PAIN to repair, service centers are rare and parts are expensive to replace on them....
COMPARED TO SONY that is.....
Sony has TONS of service centers, they have well-priced parts AND they train all the authorized servicers on their product...
So IF and When I walk in to service your SONY...I actually know that I have the BEST service and Support Team with me....
Pioneer has NEVER ever provided that level of support...
Now....Do you NEED it? Maybe.....Maybe not. But I'd rather DRIVE a Chevy than a YUGO, if you get my drift....
Plus it's ONLY a 720P Tv set....
As for the XBR or the Z4100....I know BOTH are the Cadillacs in the Sony Lineup...
I LIKE the Z 4100 better just because of the refresh rate...
But the 4 HDMIs on the XBR...That will work better IF you don't have HDMI Video switching available on your Audio amp.
And the HDMI inputs are more important to me over the 100 or 200 Hz refresh rates...To me 100Hz will do the same job as the 200Hz will....keep the picture sharp and focused and detailed...
As for Malaysia...Japan....Korea...It's BETTER than Mexico or China on the label...at least you know it's Lead-free paint, right?
And I think YOU GET THE POINT...That an XBR is just a W or Z series with Power Windows...Or a Built in 12 disc CD player, rather than a single disc player..
Do you really need all those FEATURES?
I am a Basic man with Basic Needs...I want a GOOD DISPLAY PANEL with Fast Refresh Rate, Fast Response Time, a whole bunch of Candelas....and a Native Contrast Ratio that is as close to 5000:1 as I can get.
THAT is what makes the PICTURE pretty ! Not the extra features that get used once or twice, then forgotten about...
