should i buy an lcd tv or wait for led to come down in price?
hi. im thinking of upgrading my sony 32 inch lcd (1080i max resolution), to a 40 inch 1080p. was looking at Sony BRAVIA KDL40S5500U, but now going more towards Sony Bravia KDL40W5500U. my main question is is it worth buying a tv now, or should i wait for the LED's to come down in price, and if so, why? what are the advantages? thanx!
I see that the other answerer for some reason thinks that you are upgrading from a CRT to LCD/Plasma.
To answer your question, if you could wait, yes.
LED powered LCDs (aka LED TVs) are better than the LCDs by these factors to name a few:
1. LEDs consume a lot less energy.
2. LED TVs are sleeker, slimmer, newer.
3. PQ is sharper than LCD
Since you already have a 720p LCD, I would recommend going for an LED upgrade. Technology changes so fast, I am sure LEDs prices will go down soon.
