Sony Bravia sound system wire replacment?
My dog chewed threw my wire in the rear set of my speakers in my Sony Bravia Home Theater. I was hoping I could just find a replacement wire for connecting the rear speakers. The problem is on the one side (where the wireless receiver is) there is a little plug for the wire opposed to just your standard speaker wire connection. The other side is the normal split speaker wire connection where it clips in. Does anyone know if I can find a replacement wire for this, and if so where?
It is a Sony Bravia DAVHDX900W wireless home theater.
You can actually use lamp wire or speaker wire. The most important thing to look for is gauge. The lower the gauge the longer you can run the cable. That's because lower gauge has thicker copper which means less resistance. I recommend 12 gauge if you want to prevent chewing. usually the rubber is much thicker so it can take more. It's harder to hide, so you may want to go smaller.(it doesn't have to be speaker wire) Copper is Copper. You can also use old power cords! If you have a good pair of dikes or wire cutter.

Once you get the wire. You will need a cutter and stripper that does the gauge of your wire. (10-20 bucks) from local hardware store(home depot, Lowe's, etc).

If you don't have safety glasses get some. The risk may be low, but you don't want to put your eye out!
Now to the connectors
There are the bare wire clip-ins and screw in's.
On top of that there are banana plugs and push pins.
Banana plugs have a hump(like a banana).

The one's above don't require a crimper. I don't recommend connectors for anything it's not required for because you can always cut the ends and start over every couple years. (much cheaper than 20 dollars a pop) And again copper is copper.
