my sony bravia 52" LCD TV changes screen ratio size when i change channel...?
52 inch (132 cm) BRAVIA 1080p HD W4000 LCD TV.
whenever i change channel it turns to 4:3,
to fill the screen i need it on wide. is there an option somewhere to make sure it doesn't change

You will have to read the manual to learn how to do this on your TV.
In the video menu of you TV you will find options for screen size. Choose 16:9 and you will always fill the screen.
