sony bravia 52 240hz 1080p
1080i instead of 1080p?
Hey i just bought a 52" Sony BRAVIA Engine 3 XBR9 Z Series at 240hz TV and when I select hdmi input 1(Where i watch my rogers) i noticed at the top it said 1080i.What does this mean?Isn't it supposed to say 1080p cause i bought a 1080p TV.
Another question is i need to buy a HDMI cable for my blue ray player and i was wonder what cable should i get? Do i need a 240hz cable for my 240hz TV? Just need some answers cause i know nothing about this HDMI stuff

Hmmn. Some of the people providing you answers are WRONG. First of all, your TV can process any signal up to 1080p. If it says 1080i, then the person who told you to take it back was clueless as the TV was identifying the souce resolution, so the other person is correct. Secondly, If you read the manual to yoru TV the 240hz thing is not entirely true. It is referrring the the refresh rate or how fast the image is replicated on your TV from the time it is decoded from the source. The manual should say that it emulates 240hz but at still refreshes at up to 60hz currently as no program source or DVD played back at a speed that could be refreshed that fast. True Some Best Buy people dont know what they are talking about but thats probably because the ones that give you that information are probably working in that department for the moment and do not actually normally work there. In 2007-2008 Best Buy began a program where all HT associates had to pass a proficiency and knowledge test to work in Home Theater. Otherwise the person you talked to is probably covering for a shorthanded epartment who doesn't know squat aboout the technology or was given bad info from someone else.
