Purchased Samsung LCD TV from Best Buy but received an inferior LCD TV inside.?
I purchased on my credit card a Samsung 650 TV over the weekend and as soon as I opened the package, I find that instead of the 650, it's a B530 (inferior model). On the box it's clearly states its a Samsung 650 but in the box it's a different television!
Thinking, it's a mistake on Best Buy's part, I returned to Best Buy hoping to exchange the television for the one that I purchased. The manager at Best Buy says that I should take it up with Samsung, the manufactur's, since it's their fault with the packaging. I called Samsung from the store and they say it's Best Buy who should honor the exchange, since Best Buy is the one who did the transaction.
Long story short, I'm giving the run around between Best Buy and Samsung. One manager says that's too bad and left. Now I'm stuck with an over priced television that I don't even want.
After spend a whole day arguing and reasoning with them, I've exhausted my options. What should I do?
The big problem is that what you are describing is a classic tactic some dishonest people use. Very common. So you are running into that problem. If you charged it, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Then call Best Buy and tell them you are disputing the charge and you want to return the tv. If they still refuse, notify your credit card company and see if they can help in any way.
