rca hdtv antenna indoor
Need Help setting up DVD recorder!!?
I am having trouble setting up my dvd recorder and have spent the past 5 days trying to figure it out! Its getting very frustrating!! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Here is my dilemma:
I have an RCA HDTV that has a QAM tuner, and I get cable directly from the wall, so no cable box. I have tried recording off the tv but all i get is a black screen, so i figured I just needed to hook it up to an external tuner. so i went out and bought a dtv converter box by digital stream, when i go to search for channels, nothing. I then went and bought an indoor antenna and hooked it up to the converter box, still didnt find any channels! Any advice? Do i really need all this equipment? It appears its not doing anything for me!!! I just want to be able to record!!

Thanks classicsat for your response! Would you happen to know if the dvd recorder would need a specific tuner in it?? Looks like i'll need to invest in one..
If your source is cable, you need a cable box with A/V out, or a DVD recorder with a tuner that can tune your cable.
To get the broadcast TV with the Digital Stream box, you probably need a much better antenna.
