Coaxial TV Connection?
On my tv, the port where my coaxial plugs into is snapped off. I am currently using a VCR with the TV tuned to AV1 to receive signal, however there is very poor picture and a high pitched whine coming out of the speakers. What can I buy to eliminate the need for a VCR? Is there some kind of box that I can use? I tried replacing the AV Board but my brand isnt made anymore, and I cannot afford to buy a new tv.
The TV is a Protron 26" LCD TV Model PLTV-26M
You could try a RF Modulator. So you feed the coaxial into it. Then it will provide you RCA (yellow, red/white) outputs to feed the TV. If you just need to hook up just the cable, you can get a really cheap one. If you want to hook up a few devices, get one that also acts a a switch. You can get these online or from an electronics store. Here are some examples,
