Steps To Take Before Installing A Flat Panel Lcd Tv
With the newer technologies coming everyday, some are even less in thickness than these. So, just because of this feature, you can hang the LCD TV on your walls, which is not possible with the bulkier old model TVs and it does not take any floor space at all. No matter what is the size of the LCD, there are a lot of constraints that one should keep in mind while installing or mounting an LCD TV.
It is always advisable to hire a professional for the job of mounting the LCD TV.
First of all, you need to decide where in the room you are going to place the TV. Avoid putting it on the wall facing a large window or doors. Here, sunlight may fall directly on the LCD TV's screen surface which will definitely ruin your viewing experience. Try to place you seating arrangement along the walls there and your LCD TV is on the opposite wall.
The next consideration should be the wall space available. Ideally, minimum of twice the screen width space is required with enough clearance. It is required if you want to place the speakers, or some wall decorations etc. Because having enough space will not shift the attention from the TV to the other things. After this, the final thing that needs to be considered, is the viewing distance. It should be between 2 to 3 times the screen widths.
Finally, once you decide about the spot to mount the LCD, you now need to decide the optimum height to hang the TV. The idea of the correct height is a level which is comfortable to your neck. Ideally, the center of the screen should be at the eye level while watching the TV. This is the position, in which there will be the minimum movement of your eyes and neck, while not straining them.
And the last task remains after mounting the LCD TV is of running and hiding the cables as the flat panel TV looks at its best when the wires are completely hidden. You can either hide the running cables behind appropriate trunking or just run them through the wall to the TV.
As for safety, just make sure that while drilling into the walls, you don't drill or screw into any cable wiring inside the wall. You can easily use a cable locator to find out the wires inside the wall and these are available easily at the hardware stores.
