Optimal Mounting Solutions For Lcd Tvs
Some people have different ideas about what is the best way to get a LCD TV mounted up on the wall for the best entertainment value. Of course, initially safety is the most important thought as you don't want your brand new expensive purchase slamming into the ground, so finding a secure spot on the wall is crucial. Most, if not all, flat panel televisions come equipped to sync with a mounting bracket to allow the device to be secured to the wall. Many TVs, in fact, come with such a bracket, but there are still options to be considered. There are three basic types of mounting brackets, each with slightly different cost and functionality: flush-mount brackets, recess brackets, and swivel brackets. The best option is dependent on your needs and desired uses of the TV.
To start, the cheapest option and also with the more limited function is the flush mount. It will be the most secure mount as it's closest to the wall, but it also has to have cables attached to the television before you mount it. The TV can't be moved once it's up there, but it is inexpensive and if that's a huge criteria then this is a good mount.
To have the option for moving it up and down there's the option for the recess mount, it costs a little bit more though. This movement from the recess mount allows someone to work behind the TV, which is good so that you can avoid having to pay for the most expensive mount, the swivel. It will cost you the most money but you can move the television in multiple ways to adjust for glare and make for optimal viewing positions.
A TV in a bedroom will be mounted lower than the normal rule of thumb which is generally to mount the screen so that half to two thirds of the screen will be above your eye level. So in most situations that will put the center of the screen about three feet over the floor level, but of course this can change depending on the furniture height and personal preference.
