After the sudden stop my previous point and shoot I was ready for a family vacation and my only options my SLR camera images. Traveling with children, etc., and I know that at some point they would like / need to take several shots at point and shoot was necessary.
I considered the various models and finally made a choice G11 progress achieved since the G10. Previously, I looked at the G10, and when I liked the many, low light image quality has been a big problem for me.
G11 arrived on time and how it is done in the party Multibox from many vendors. I ordered a new SD-card memory card (8GB SanDisk Extreme 30 Mbps) and new battery (optional). As always, thanks to Amazon.
pictures immediately so extraordinary. Few test shots around the house, the day before departure with great color, very good depth and have been good and sharp. Of course, kids favorite part was the video mode is also very nice.
during the trip (Washington) week on a beautiful spring day spectacular images. Bodiless images of monuments, close-up cherry blossums, wide view of the city ... All very good. Movable screen was a great advantage in that images can be shot of the crowd overhead, but still allowed visual composition adjustments. Inside shots were also good in the world shows, but it is clear that some problems still exist in digital photography in low light conditions.

- ISO selection dial can be set at a certain speed, but the "Auto" in the top menu set ISO will continue to adjust to what he wants ... It was a challenge in low light shows when trying to save some more quality shots. Automatic promotion ISO1600 made some very grainy / zashumlennyh images. After some study, low-light shots immediately changed to a manual mode.
- battery was not what I expected ... Maybe my expectations were too high, but about 250-300 shots on a full charge (thank goodness, for the parts).
Overall, it was a great camera with some difficulty, but the quality of most shots in one day with my big SLR camera, and when outside it was easy to circumvent, non-optimal point and shoot area. I would buy it again.
