Seriously, if you choose to join the thousands who are eliminating their energy bills by building their own solar panels, you may just get a little misty when you gaze up at those gorgeous jet-black solar panels harnessing the Sun's life-giving energy!
Making your own solar and wind power for less than $200
Here is the process of making solar panels in a nutshell:
1. Gather the necessary parts
2. Connect and wire the photovoltaic cells together on a large, flat panel
3. Mount the panel(s) on your home's roof, or anywhere else where it will be in direct sunlight for at least 8-10 hours a day
4. Wire the solar panel(s) to a power generator, which will take the solar energy and convert it into electricity that you can use to power your home.
Now, it may seem like a relatively simple process, but it is more complicated than it sounds. Some wiring and soldering is involved and may be trouble for someone who has no experience in that area. But, that being said, there are some nice "how-to" guides that deal exclusively with making solar panels. If you get your hands on one of these, and are able to follow directions, you will have no problem getting your solar panel system up and running and saving you thousands of dollars!
I would recommend only two DIY solar energy guides. There are a lot to choose from online, but they are definitely not all created equal! I've reviewed most all of them, and two guides really do stand head and shoulders above the rest.
#1 DIY Green Energy: This guide gives you more value for its $50 price tag than any other DIY guide does. You get several manuals, covering all the aspects of solar panel making, as well as how to make your own windmill, if you are interested. The manuals are clear, concise and fully illustrated.
DIY Green Energy gives you something that no other guide does. The authors wrote a section of the EBook outlining exactly how they were able to build a fully functional home solar power system for only $97! All other DIY guides claim you can build a solar power system for $200, but DIY Green Energy is the only guide that shows you how to do it for half that price.
Making your own solar and wind power for less than $200
You also get 2 hours worth of "how-to" videos on 7 different aspects of solar panel creation, which is something no other guide can rival. If you're a visual learner like I am, then you'll really appreciate the videos.
#2 Earth 4 Energy: I also recommend Earth 4 Energy because their eBook is very easy to follow, and they also include "how-to" videos, although not as many as Earth4Energy, and that is a big reason why they are ranked as #2.
So, if you still think you would like to try your hand at making solar panels. Go for it! I believe you'll find it challenging, fun and definitely rewarding. Check out one of the guides I mentioned if you think it would be helpful, and get to it!
