HDTV antena: which one to buy? Indoor or outdoor?
I live in an are that should get a multidirectional antena for red zone ZIP 02145 (according to a site.org) and checking online that are so many options that I felt like an idiot. Please help!
You're only about 10 miles from the transmitters, almost all of which are in Needham Heights to the southwest of your location in Somerville (I think). At that distance, your antenna requirements shouldn't be too tough. Your biggest problem may be multi-path reflections from nearby buildings. I grew up in Watertown and I know how densely populated Somerville is - the home of the triple decker.
If you're in a place that you own, an outdoor antenna would be the preferred solution. If you're renting an apartment, then you may have no choice other than an indoor antenna. The performance of most indoor antennas is really pretty awful.
If you can get an antenna outside, I'd recommend the Winegard 7694 (http://is.gd/4T1OK).
If you're restricted to an indoor antenna, try the Winegard SS-3000 (http://is.gd/4T1Mg).
