Samsung Un55B8000 55 1080P Led Hdtv - Great Picture, Poor Backlight Control
This TV produces stunning images. If you watch sports and movies as the colorful "Happy Feet" will be very happy.
However, during the semi-dark and dark scenes the backlight is visible. It looks like white clouds (for lack of a better description). Type of small flashlights like having all edges that shine on the screen. The image behind the light is great, but you can not enjoy the movie because of "white clouds". On my TV, the white clouds in 80-90% of the images - which are a lot of washout on a "55 images.
Samsung phone support sent someone to my home phone the person said they are getting numerous calls about the problem. The repair person arrived with the attitude of "I heard about this problem every day and I'm tired of it." He said that Samsung has used to try to repair the problems in the area but since has stopped. The results have been 50-50 if the problem gets better.
He told me that if I do not like, not to watch movies with dark scenes. Say what?
He also told me that my choices are to "live with" or "return". That the problem was very popular and "only a matter of LED televisions.
Since then I have seen complaints on the website of Sony for their LED televisions. Well, at least Samsung admits the problem!
Samsung phone from e-mail had no answers to use, and have no interest in resolving the problem, I returned.

I had no problems at all with the set-up, color, etc., white corner the problems I have shown you many Samsung 6000, 7000 and 8000, which talked about many different issues, both negative and positive. If you are not a super tech person, but someone who just wants a picture quality will not be disappointed.
The best pictures I have seen, I'm sure that Sony or Pioneer is equally enjoyable. I thought the quality was the best option for me. I connect to live TV. Purchased through Amazon with free financing that in all honesty, should be 24 months not 36 months. You know that I would have bought anyway with 24 months free financing, I still can not figure out how to get 36 months free financing.
Other then that I'm happy with the delivery company they used and the funding I received. You should talk to the marketing department showing about 24 months free financing. If for some reason customers receive free 36 months the customer is happy Vs wondering what they missed. It 'also connected very quickly to our wireless Internet using the add. Great TV, best price, great delivery and financing the best I found!
