Toshiba TV Question.?
I'm looking to buy a new HDTV and I have my sights on this one. However I am confused about one thing.
It says it isn't digital cable ready.
Digital Cable Ready (Abbreviated DCR.) Describes TVs that incorporate a CableCARD slot to receive digital cable content without the need for a set-top box. You can typically get a CableCARD from your cable provider for a nominal monthly fee (contact your provider for more information).
Does that mean I can't hook up my actual cable to it? I just have a line in coming off my parents digital cable in the living room. Any ideas?
My cable company is comcast, and I currently have a smaller hdtv that uses a direct cable line. I hope this works.
That means that if your cable system requires a Cable card for access, you would need to use a box supplied by the cable company to receive any channels not transmitted in the clear (premium and PPV).
