How do I set up a good sound system through my Vizio HD TV?
I own a 38' Vizio Television. I am rather computer and technically savy, but I haven't really ever messed with setting up sound systems to TV's or Computers. My Vizio has two different ways to put out sound.
It has audio component cable plug ins. (Left and right, white and red)
Or it has the optical out sound connection. I haven't ever looked at or used optical out before, and was wondering if there is a good inexpensive way to set up the television for a good 5.1 sound system. (The TV says it is capable of 5.1 dolby digital) If anyone is familiar with Vizio TV's or how to set up sound through TV's please help! Should I buy sound cards, amps, certain speakers etc. any help is great!
It depends on how much you want to spend. $250 will get you a subwoofer, 5 speakers and a dvd player. Connect the audio out of the tv to the in of the dvd. Optical is the best way but more expensive.
You can buy an amp and speakers and a dvd separate and spend as much as you want.
You better do some research on your computer before you buy. Search Best buy, Crutchfields and any site like Sony, Samsung and so on.
