Introducing the Panasonic Viera TX-L32G10
The thirty-two inch LCD flat panel Panasonic Viera TX-L32G10 from Panasonic launched earlier in the year is ideal as a second or possibly third television in the bedroom or kitchen. Panasonic also provides a thirty seven inch TV in the G-series product line, one that is typically considered as the high end offering from Panasonic.
This flat panel screen's smaller stature makes it an ideal fit for the office, kitchen, bedroom and possibly even a utility monitor. The television weighs about thirty pounds and has a fifteen inch swivel. However, from a functionality standpoint, the Panasonic TX-L32G10 prominence stems from its superior picture quality and image stability. The main reason behind its superior image quality is Panasonic's Intelligent Frame Creation system (IFC) which helps create a uniform moving picture appearance.
The TX-L32G10 has a resolution of 1920x1080 and a screen aspect ratio of 16:9 which is comparable to other high definition screens on the market. According to the television set specifications, the dynamic contrast ratio is 50,000:1. The contrast ratio measures the difference in luminosity of the brightest colour to that of the darkest colour that the system is capable of producing. The larger ratio allow for greater quality in picture quality.
The display also has a 100-HZ Intelligent Frame Creation capability which doubles the 50-HZ video signal input to produce smooth image transitions. This provides the enhanced moving picture quality. Furthermore, what makes this television different from its predecessors is its 178 degree viewing angle that does not detract from picture quality when viewed from the sides (or at an angle). The TX-L32G10 television set also features auto aspect control which also enhances the viewing experience. However, one should note that these capabilities are available in other makes and televisions and not unique to the TX-L32G10.
Another unique selling point of the TX-L32G10 is its Freesat tuner. The Freesat tuner is the UK's free-to-air satellite digital service that allows users to watch HD content from certain channels with no subscription fees. The TV is also CATV compatible (UK cable television) and able to receive broadcast stereo reception (such as FM).
Given the size and portability of this unit, it would be ideal for gaming. Although the resolution and picture quality will be component dependent, the Panasonic TX-L32G10 is compatible with the popular consoles. The flat panel screen also has HDMI ports for additional components, such as Blue-ray players. The thirty two inch size also makes the TV popular for use an additional computer screen. The VGA and SVGA ports allow for easy connection to laptops and desktops.
In addition to the standard inputs, the TX-L32G10 television also includes the VIERA Link which allows the LCD screen to connect to various AV devices by an HDMI cable. In particular, the VIERA enhancement has a specific connection capability with the new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output port to VIERA. There is also an SD card slot compatible with digital video memory cards. This is useful for watching photos or motion images taken by other digital cameras or digital video recorders. The multi window functionality allows users to easily multi-task.
The TX-L32G10 has its speaker system on the bottom panel. The LCD panel also has surround sound 20W digital ports for installing a surround sound system. Given the overall functionality, performance, and picture quality, this smaller television set offering from Panasonic packs quite a punch.
