Using a HDTV as a second or primary monitor?
I have an Emerson 32" HDTV that I bought on black Friday (the latest one). It has an HDMI input. I have an HDMI cable. I built my PC, the motherboard is a GIGABYTE MA790GP-UD4H. It has a place to plug in an HDMI cable. I can't find out whether it is an input or output. I am pretty sure it is an output. I plug the TV into the computer (with HDMI) and I cant get nVidia control panel to recognize it, and the TV says PC options aren't available. I have everything connected properly, I am not an idiot. Why isn't it working?
First go to display properties on the pc and enable the second display, right-click on an empty part of the desktop > properties > settings
Set the resolution to the lowest setting first so the tv can recognize it
Change TV to HDMI and not PC
