what do i do when my hdtvs are not getting enough signal from one ota antenna that goes to both tvs??
i have 2 hdtvs, i recently bought and outdoor antenna to get free hd ota. Put it up in the attic and i ran a six foot coax cable from the antenna to the splitter (PREMIUM 4 way Splitter F type Screw - 5~2400 MHz ) and then ran one coax to one tv and a 2nd one to the other tv. all the channels available to me come in very clear but channel 2.1 (cbs) the only way it comes in clear is if i unplug one of the coax from the other tv and then it comes in clear but once i plug in the other coax it freezes the image or goes blank. what can i do to get all the channels clear on all the tvs??? do i need i signal booster if so what kind is good?? i am thiking of addding a 3rd hdtv so what booster would be good??
First, if you're using a four way splitter, and only using two of the ports, you're throwing away half your signal. Replace with a two way splitter. If that doesn't do uit, add an amplifier before the splitter, but first hook-up a TV before the splitter. If the signal before the splitter is noisy, the amplifier probably won't help, but yoy could still try it.
If you want to add a third TV, you can try a three way splitter. If someone tells you they don't exist-he's wrong.
