Connecting a DTV with a directv box?
Hi,
I have a 50'' HDTV and I have directv box. I purchased a philips dtv anntena and I dont have any idea how to hook it up with the directv box. The guy at the store told me to just hook up the cable from the antena directly to the TV. But I have to use the directv box to change the channels, I try everything and no luck, please help in details, thank you much in advance.

I already have an HD directv box, but I dont have the HD service. Someone told me that if I buy the antenna the channels will look better, but am just trying to connect the antenna with the directv box.
There are a couple ways to do this depending on which receiver you have. The newer receivers DO NOT have an input for the antenna, but the old ones do. If you have an older model, there should be an input on the back that says "ANT IN". Just connect the antenna there using the coaxial cable provided. If you have a newer model, then you must purchase the AM-21 Tuner adapter. Yes, I know. that's ridiculous. I have no idea why the newer models have less input options than the older ones. Just another way to get more money. Anyway, if you do a web search for AM-21, you should be able to find one. I think the cost around $60. Keep in mind that only the local HD channels that you get through the antenna will look better.
