Magnavox - $998: 3000:1, 1366x768, 8ms, 500 cd/m2, 720p or 1080i. Inputs: 2 HD component video, HDMI, 2 S-Video, and 4 Video inputs. V-Chip, 3:2 pulldown compensation, anti-reflection coating, 2:2 pulldown compensation, sleep timer, Smart Picture Control, Smart Sound Control,Zoom 14:9, Zoom 16:9, Super Zoom, WideScreen, Conventional 4:3, Expand, Super Wide. Vizio 42" - $946: 1000:1, 1366x768, 8ms, can't find brightness specs, 720p or 1080i. Inputs: 2x HDMI video inputs, 2x Component, 1x S-Video, 2x Composite Video, RGB input for computers. Pros & Cons: Magnavox: better contrast ratio, more inputs, a little more reliable name brand product.Vizio: $50 cheaper, Computer input. Which to buy? Been doing my homework & Vizio has a great picture. Seen some great reviews for it. Can't find too many reviews for Magnavox. On a very limited budget. Both sold at Walmart & offer 2 year warranty. Not going plasma. Dark Room - but Sun shines on TV for parts of the day.
