Un55B7000 Samsung - Large Lcd Features Hi Tech

The newThis is my second Samsung TV and I am very happy with this purchase. Sure its expensive TV, but also his position of great features, tons of settings, and the latest LED backlight technology that provides black level that takes into territory LCD plasma, without demands for power or heat of plasma. 55-inch requires less energy than my old 40-inch LCD panel because of intelligent backlight that turns down (or off) LED in dark areas of the image.

Overall I think its quality is up there with Sony high-end (LDCs) and Pioneer (plasma) displays. Samsung has really made a name for themselves in recent years with steady improvement is the LCD line. I really like how each input saves its own settings so you do not need to adjust every time you switch inputs.

For a game like LCDs in its default configuration there can be some problems with some games with latency and sharp images. I had a big problem with Rock Band, when the animation behind the notes slid notes blur. You can use the E-Game Mode "to solve this problem but I found a better solution. Because you can not change the brightness / contrast or backlit with "E-Game Mode", I used input HDMI2 Xbox 360 and changed the label on HDMI2 to "PC". This tells the TV that you have a PC connected to HDMI2 and jump the color and image processing just like the "E-Game Mode", but now you can control the brightness / contrast and backlight. Only works on HDMI2 and his briefly mentioned in the manual, but it makes a much lower latency gameplay of "E-Game Mode" that Samsung offers.

For movies: Much better than any LCD due to the very black levels. deep blacks and good dark detail can be seen with this TV with the right settings. With LED backlight and a Blu-Ray, blacks are true blacks instead of dark gray and black bars on widescreen movies out of sight. And because his and LCDs are much brighter since punch, even the best plasma displays.

For TV: If its standard definition, do not expect too impressed. I think the scaler and feed standard def TV looks good for what it is and you can use the LOW setting dynamic contrast cars and bikes to make it more palatable. But if you have HD TV will look great on this TV.

Negatives: There is only one real downside to this TV, but for me its very, very minor. When viewed from an angle, you lose the blacks ink, even for only 30 degrees. Its not a big deal for me, for two reasons. The couch is on-axis and it looks great from any place on the sofa. From the side chair (about 40 °) still seems great and you probably would not even notice you were losing some level of black until you move to the couch. Off-axis, this TV still seems as good as any high-end LCD I've seen. So, if you will often need to look off axis, you lose some of the advantages of LED backlighting and maybe you should go for a plasma, since all LCDs have this problem and most are much worse than this TV. I just think that his most noted as the axis about blacks are so good. That is why it is often mentioned in reviews. Then only other minor problem is that the stand does not swivel. This was a nice touch, but with a TV of this size, I probably will not move much.

For Geeks: This TV is great. The number of different settings you play with are incredible. You can also do both color balance and calibration of black and white with this TV without having to go into service menu. You are equipped with full greyscale (RGB Gain and Cut) and color (RGB and YCM) from standard settings. I really like this because I can try to calibrate itself without worrying about messing up the settings of the service menu.

So, you pay a lot for this TV, but I think its worth for the quality of the images and the ability to control the LED backlight LCD technology before everyone else get it, and you will! I think LED backlighting is a breakthrough for flat panels and will continue to improve in coming years and become the standard for LCD TVs. So, I just paid a premium to see now.

UPDATE: I discovered that the problem with some games is the "LED Motion Pro Set Best to disable this for most games. Yet its nice to have the PC mode, and reduce latency.
